CBD...the Ace of Tennis

Updated: Jul 3, 2020

Tennis is a great form of exercise.

Practicing tennis can improve heart health, bolster bone mass, improve brain function and burn calories. Tennis even improves coordination and balance.  It is a full-body workout that can leave one feeling a bit sore the next morning.

The repetitive swing along with running and pivoting can lead to strained muscles and tendons in players’ legs, backs, arms, as well as the dreaded tennis elbow.  Instead of opting to take painkillers, I sought out a more natural way to suppress my aches and pains which led me to cannabinoids.

Research shows that CBD has anti inflammatory properties that improve humans’ endocannabinoid systems.  Our CB2 receptors moderate inflammation and CBD is reportedly working to provide low-risk pain relief.  Whether used after either a match or a strenuous workout, CBD rubs applied topically to overworked extremities can provide users with comfort, naturally.  Finding a muscle rub that also uses cayenne pepper extract is an added bonus as peppers’ caspian can limit the neuropeptide called substance P to also ease pain.  The two are a winning combination.

On days that I work out, applying a CBD muscle rub before bed is a simple part of my pain management regime.  To boot, these hemp oil and cannabinoid studies show that CBD has properties that can regulate sleep patterns and improve slumber, which aids in muscle recovery.  It’s aces!
